Wade Korpi, Pitcher Hit in the head with a Baseball, Video. Wade Korpi is a pitcher for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Wade was pitching to Rutgers batter Dan Betteridge, when he was hit with a line drive to the head. Fortunately for him, it was a ricochet. He seemed to be OK. Reports said he was stunned for ten minutes and left. We can all be glad it was not a lot worse. The ball was clocked at 100 mile per hour by a radar gun. Notre Dame won the game 11-2 over the Scarlet Knights.

This could have been a caught ball, if they were not using metal bats.
