Michael Jordan, 1998 NBA Finals, Last Shot, Video. Michael Jordan explains the anatomy of the last shot he took in the 1998 NBA playoffs. He stole the ball from Malone, because Karl did not see him coming. He drove down the court. Michael Jordan did not call timeout. MJ did not wan the defense to get set. He held on for the shot he wanted. Air Jordan saw the lane open up. He drove, stopped, and left Russell 6 feet away with broken ankles. Jordan shoots a jumper from the top of the key, and it is nothing but net. Michael Jordan stands there, for what seems like minutes, with his hand in the air. My heart was broken.
