Dominique Wilkins, Drinks 2 liters of Minute Maid, Commercial. MJ has had quite a few of his commercials come to life recently. I thought I would try to bring this Nique commercial some well needed resuscitation. I saw it on the Youtube. The Pumps are classic. I also love the fact that he was drinking a 2 liter of Minute Maid. Who does that? This is what I think happened.
Director: Alright Mr. Wilkins. Thanks for coming down.
Dominique: No problem, but where is the hoop?
Director: Don’t worry. We are going to pretend there is a hoop. It is the magic of TV.
Dominique: Cool. Where is the background?
Director: You are the background kid. This commercial is all about you and Minute Maid.
Dominique: Will this look cheap?
Director: No.
Dominique: It says in the script that I am supposed to drink some Minute Maid after my pretend dunk, but all I see is this 2 liter.
Director: Exactly! You will be the first to do it. This is 1991 baby. Live in the now. Be a trend setter.
Dominique: Do we have any glasses, cans, or 20 ounce bottles?
Director: Look. I am on contract. You are on contract. The budget is set. Are you going to take 50 cents from the kid that is holding the mic boom? I didn’t think so. We got the 2 liter. Lets use the 2 liter. Now go to hair and makeup and get your flat top tight and lets shoot this thing.
