Ohio State vs. USC, Prediction 2008. This game will be awesome. It always lives up to its hype, because there is always so much riding on it, and the fans are so pumped about it. If they played an ugly game, it will still be a nail biter for millions of college football fans.
A lot of people think that USC has got this one in the bag. They do have a lot of talent, but sometimes it seems that everyone West of Texas is pulling for USC. I think a lot of people forget about last season. USC did not look that good. They had peeks and valleys in their season. They lost to Stanford. They are picked so high for 2 main reasons.
- They have an entire coast of writers that think they are #1, and if they are not, Pac 10 football is not looking that good. Well, all of the writers know better, so USC is always in the top 5.
- Even the staunchest believer in UCLA knows that USC will win the Pac 10.
Those are the 2 main reasons that USC is ranked so high.
Ohio State is stacked as usual. They have tons of talent and they play in a very tough conference. The Big 10 plays smash mouth football every week. You can point out losses here and there, but they put a good product out on the field every week.
The 2 reasons Ohio State is not getting the hype they deserve is
- Wells has been hurt.
- They have been beaten by an SEC team in the championship game the last two years.
Well, Wells is most likely going to play, and last years National Championship game does not matter when they are playing USC in week #3 of the season. People need to get their heads on straight. They both have a ton of talent, but look at why they are ranked where they are. Ohio State is not ranked #1 because they lost a game last year. USC is ranked highly because everyone knows that the Pac 10 is week and they are a lock for the Rose Bowl.
Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes have been overlooked ever since they lost to the Gators a year and a half ago. My prediction is that Ohio State is going to put a defensive clinic on, and they will run it down their throats.

Wells did not play, but it looks like USC just handed it to them.
I still think that USC is in an inferior conference.
They most certainly won this game.
