Bulls vs Knicks used to be Must See TV, 1997, Video. Yes, The Knicks and Bulls rivalry used to be the big show. Michael Jordan’s Bulls vs Patrick Ewing’s Knicks. The cocky Ex-Knick Phil Jackson vs the short feisty Jeff Van Gundy. Michael Jordan pounced upon the dreams of every New York fan time after time, and that is the reason that the 3 spot was so coveted. It was a forgone conclusion that anyone playing the Bulls would lose, so if you were in the 3 spot you had a chance not to play the Bulls right away.

I love that Jerry Seinfeld and George are even pumped to see the game. Now, it is not exactly the same. The Knicks would KILL for getting close to the #3 playoff spot in the East. They are one of the few franchises in sports that have all of the money, and have no clue what to do with it. The Bulls, even though they try, have never found an identity since MJ left for good.

This intro is for the last game of the season, April 19, 1997. The Bulls were going for their 70th win, but they lost to New York 103 at Chicago 101. ( Ewing 27 pts, Houston 25 pts, Starks 20 pts)
