Fearless Sports Predictions for 2009

Fearless Sports Predictions for 2009. Happy New Year to all the great folks out there. 2008 had some memorable sports moments between Phelps at the Olympics, Boston’s Celtics finally reclaiming the big prize, and Peyton’s little brother Eli making a name for himself. I am sure 2009 will hold many great accomplishments as well. I looked deep into my crystal ball, my magic 8-ball, and used a Ouija board to come up with the following great predictions for the New Year.
The Indianapolis Colts overcome one of the worst starts ever for a playoff team and win the Super Bowl in a tight game over the Carolina Panthers. No surprise here as Peyton Manning wins the MVP. Tony Dungy says he will keep coaching as long as he is a winner.
The New York Yankees should be ashamed. The Steinbrenner family could have bailed out the whole auto industry with the money they are spending. Instead they settled on one big truck (CC Sabathia), an SUV (Mark Texiera) and a used V-8 (AJ Burnett). If the Yanks were playing Monopoly with all of the other teams, they start the game with more than half of the money and three quarters of the deeds and STILL CAN’T WIN. The Dodgers will resign Manny and win the series over the Yaankess 4-2.
Boston vs Los Angeles is looking like the obvious NBA final. I do not think Boston will get there. Look for an injury to Garnett or Pierce to really slow down the Celtics. I see the Cavs sliding in but losing to the Lakers and Kobe Bryant in a hotly contested NBA finale. After the finals, LeBron James reveals he will stay in Cleveland as it makes no sense to leave when he is basically at home playing with a team he put together under a coach he hand picked!
Manny Pacquio destroys Ricky Hatton in 6 rounds or less. This sets up the big Mayweather vs Pacquio fight everyone wants. This fight will not happen until next January (2010) so I will give a prediction in 365 days.
Enjoy 2009! and after last night, lets hope that Dick Clark retires!
