Matt Millen Admits Lions Winless Season was His Fault, Video. The guy was a winner in his playing days at Penn State, a Super Bowl Champion with the San Francisco 49ers, a top-notch broadcaster with NBC for ten years and then came Detroit. I will never understand how Matt Millen kept his job as president of the Detroit Lions as long as he did. I really scratched my head and wondered after watching him take wide receivers with the Lions top picks three consecutive years. Millen has completely devastated a franchise for years and his bad decision making is going to still rear its head in Motown in the future. Al Davis would have fired him in two years.
What now? There are a couple of scenarios to think about here. The first is where do the Lions go from here? This looks like the perfect job for Bill Parcells, the master of taking a team that can do no worse and reaping praise and benefits as they do a little better each year. Where does Matt Millen land? Look for Millen to be back in the broadcast booth very soon.
