My Sports Blogger Bromances

Posted on | March 7, 2009 | No Comments

My Sports Blogger Bromances. NESW Sports is celebrating its 1-year anniversary this week, and I plan to do a few posts reflecting on a few of my experiences etc… One of my New Years resolutions was to stop “Blogging about Blogging”. This is, after all, a sports blog. I have done pretty good at that, but I sometimes just gots to do it.

Over the past year, I have developed some sports blogger bromances. ( A Bromance is basically a man crush. It is 100% heterosexual. I am married. Don’t read too much into this. ) These Bromances are completely one sided. I think these guys rock. I have never talked to any of them, maybe just a few short emails. The point of the post is to just say thanks for all that they taught me from afar, and for being pure geniuses. I have picked up pointers from their work, but am nowhere close to where they are at. All I do is post videos, these bloggers are artists weaving their tapestries for the world to see.

I now realize how hard it is to be good at blogging. Notice, I did not say that blogging was tough. Anyone can blog. These bloggers showed me that it is hard to gain respect, and be worth reading.
I read their work whenever I can. I try to link to it on my blog. When I see their stories on social networking sites, like Ballhype and Digg, I vote their stories up. When I see their Tweets on Twitter, I respond as if they were talking to me, which they weren’t. If they did not know any better they would think I was a suck-up, but I could care less, if I get 1 single link from any of them. I do it because I think they rock. It’s a respect thing. I treat them just like friends. I treat them like “Bromances”.

I have learned a lot from a lot of bloggers. I had to cut this list off somewhere and this is what I came up with. This is in no particular order.
