“NBA Fast Break” Is it still Fantastic 22 years later? video. Look at this NBA commercial from 1987. You have Larry Bird’s Celtics, Isiah’s Pistons, and you have the Lakers’ “Showtime” running the fast break to perfection.
I know these are legendary teams, but my question to you is, do you see anything like this in the league right now? Everyone that touches the ball in these clips is running the fast break the way Dr. James Naismith would have drawn it up with chalk. Everyone had the skills. Today it seems that everyone has dunking on their mind and the point guard is the only fella that has the vision and skill.

The spurs haven't addressed any of their problems since the end of the 08 season loss to La in 5 games. Their lockdown defense, 3 point shooting, execution, road wins, and production from their role players have all been down. Their turnovers and points allowed have been up.
Someone needs to be held responsible; Pop or Buford. Even if the Spurs back their way into the playoffs they will be another first round Ko easily to these younger, faster teams in the West just like last season.
