Continueing the record means a lot to him, and he is not showing any signs of slowing down. He will most likely win a few more while Kobe is in his prime. The only things that are realistically standing in his way are the Celtics and Cavs. They are building super teams.
The Magic and other teams are changing people, but not taking huge steps forward. The Cavs and C men are making big waves, and they were good before free agency started. So the stairway to eleven will be tough. I would say the odds on them winning it again in the next 3 years is 33%. I would really like to see one of these teams completely dominate so I can see something like the Jordan era, but that level of dominance might be over.
