Mickey Mantle Hits a Home Run off of Johnny Carson, and Carson QB’s the Jets, Video. In the wake of all of the hoopla about the Tonight Show, and what NBC is or is not going to do with Jay Leno and Conan, I found this video of the master himself, doing what he did best.
I am a huge Conan fan, but I have to admit that you can not beat an original. The King of Late Night… Here’s Johnny!

Very understated. Johnny never had to push for a laugh–Johnny waited to get laughs, and he never resorted to nonsense in order to get there. He is so relaxed and confident. When was the last time anyone acted “confident” on television? It’s all hip, nasty, ironic, useless humor now.
