EVERY TUESDAY David Chalk, renowned, acclaimed and beloved baseball writer from 7th Inning Stache, Bugs&Cranks and occasionally Big League Stew throws up Eight Random Videos to entertain and/or enlighten right here on NESW SPORTS.

So I didn’t do that great with my picks last week, but I think I did at least as well as Artie Lange did with his. Meanwhile I’m still just getting settled in after my recent move from New York to San Francisco, so this week you’ll get a special video-less edition of 8RV and you’ll like it.

Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints, Saturday 4:30 EST FOX

I really really hope the Saints win this game because the dumb luck of the Arizona Cardinals and their fossil quarterback is really starting to annoy me. As for the Saints, they’ve always been tolerable — although Jeremy Shockey getting hit by a bus would make me smile. Drew Brees is no Aaron Brooks or Bobby Hebert, but hopefully he can get the job done and save us from more Cardinals games.

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts, Saturday 8:15 EST CBS

Great, a matchup of the AFC’s two most vile teams. Do they have tornados in Indiana? I guess the kid from Delaware and Ray Lewis are vaguely tolerable, but I hate that one of these two teams will get to the AFC Championship game next week. I’ll be rooting for lots of injuries.

Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings, Sunday 1:00 EST FOX

The Cowboys, while good apparently at beating the Eagles, have no business being in a conference championship game. I really like that Sidney Rice kid on the Vikings, and maybe it’s because I rarely watch ESPN, but I think Brett Favre is under-appreciated. The Vikings coach, however, looks like a dentist — so if Minnesota blows it, it’s on him. And could there be a worse fate for a stadium than having your last MLB game be a playoff series-ending loss to the Yankees and your last NFL game be a playoff loss to the Cowboys? It’s just too awful to contemplate. Well, at least they’ll always have Super Bowl XXVI.

New York Jets at San Diego Chargers, Saturday 4:40 EST CBS

I don’t have much against either of these two teams, but neither seems good enough to deserve a trip to a conference championship game either (seems to be a theme this week). I guess I kinda like Buddy Ryan’s kid and I’ve still got a soft spot for Norv. I don’t really care who wins this one, as long as they beat Indy or the Ravens next week.
