Daymond Langkow, Puck To The Back Of The Neck (3/21/10), Video. Let’s start off by saying, He is OK. Reports show that Daymond is in the hospital moving his extremities.
This is a ho-hum play. Langkow got locked up and fell to the ice, which happens often in a game where behemoths glide around on ice via blades on the bottom of their shoes. It just so happens that there was a slap shot by one of his teammates, Ian White, at the perfect time, and it hit him in the back of the neck on the way down. As soon as it happens, the game stops, and everyone knows it is serious.
I am not the biggest hockey fan, but I love the sport, and I love the grit of all the players. I like to post exciting vids, but I hate it when they have a bad ending. This one did not, but a lot of hockey vids do. Pucks to the mouth/face, cheep shots, and of course any head to ice collision is always sad to see. Call me a wuss, but I feel their pain.
Hat Tip Puck Daddy.
